“It appears the Woman just realized your presence. You will die as soon as you step out of this building. The faceless is looking for you everywhere. If they catch you. And they certainly will. They will do everything to get that demon out of you. Everything.” Swain looked into Eon’s eyes. Swain’s eyes were dark black, but there was something more than that.
“However, if you are asking for forgiveness, if you are prepared to sacrifice yourself for Noxus, you still can accomplish your glory and future.” Swain looked like he saw something in Eon’s eyes. With satisfaction, Jericho Swain stepped back to see Eon right.
“Your answer?”
Eon was aware of the fact that there were no other options. Swain said as if he would let Eon go if he wanted to, but Eon knew what would happen after. He did not know the limit, how much he could heal from the contract, and the grand general had killed him for sure. The grand general could kill Eon whenever he wanted to. Eon had his only way to survive.
...
“A week took too long for them to figure out that you are already in my grasp. Maybe I was overestimating the faceless.” As always, Swain was peacefully looking out the only large window in this office. He seemed peaceful, but Eon felt something complicated, a grotesque character, or a man being in a war. Eon had a small raven on his right shoulder sometime, preparing Swain’s favorite tea as his tea time came near.
“So the faceless is with the Woman, eager for demonic power?” Eon asked as he carefully put down the iced tea on Swain’s desk.
“Still haven’t figured out why. To overpower me? No. They have been doing so even since Darkwill. To conquer the Runterra? No. They got Noxus. We are almost ready, but the League… The League is holding too much power.” Swain did not look away from the window, even when he slowly picked up his tea and started a sip.
“Isn’t that the reason why you needed me? To stand against the League?” Eon always wondered what Swain was looking at through the window, but figuring out was out of his capability.
“Your revival, it is pretty rare even outside of the League. You revived even after your 30th death. I, myself, cannot get rid of you. How lucky.” Eon was not sure whose luck Swain meant. Swain surely did kill Eon over 30 times, insisting he wanted to test Eon’s power. Of course, Eon had no other options.
“And I searched for the demon with endless revival. The demon’s name you contracted to is Rahgan, with the form of bloody snake. Do you remember anything?” Swain pointed to the corner of his office, and there was a desk with an opened book on it. Eon walked to the desk with his eyes fixed to the written content of the book. As he got near to the book, Eon could see a figure of unknown being more and more clearer. The pages were opened for the demon, Eon had no idea what the text said, since it was not a language he knew. Just a figure on the right page is all that Eon could pay attention to.
“I heard ‘Live’ every time I died. That is pretty much all I know about Rahgan. The voice never changes.” The bloody red snake figure on the book caught Eon’s attention. The snake was so red that it almost looked like a lengthy trace of blood. Eon was still thinking about when Rahgan would talk to him.
“Not the most appealing form, but that is the demon keeping you alive.” Swain commented as Eon was taking too much time to ‘read’ two pages.
“Coming week, I am thinking about going to the rift for several business. And you are coming with me.” While Eon was into the book, Swain had one of his ravens fly out through the window. Just as always, there were not many options for Eon.
Jericho Swain was one of the people who were not happy with the League, that was mediating most of the war, conflicts across the Runeterra. The existence of the League somewhat helped Swain to deal with internal problems before other things, but he never wanted to waste any time once he concluded peace could weaken Noxus. Every time he stepped forward towards other regions, the mages from the League pushed Noxus back. Noxus was slowly making progress, however, Swain did not like how the League was always intervening in the affairs. On the surface, he was pretending to be with the League’s ideology, but Swain was silently waiting for a time to find someone to stand for his ideology.
Swain was not 100% sure if Eon could be the person he wanted, Jericho Swain decided to test further with Eon by dropping Eon in the middle of the rift.
